Working together has enabled brothers Bill and Larry Mathis to take their father's and uncle's company, Mathis Brothers Furniture, and turn it into one of the top 100 furniture companies in the United States. If either had gone it alone, the family business may not have achieved such success.
The first generation of Mathis brothers, Don and Bud Mathis, got their start picking up used refrigerators off the side of the street, refurbishing them and selling them to local appliance and furniture stores.
