Officials Tour Storm Damage, Urge Caution in Oklahoma

The ice isn't the only dangerous thing Oklahomans need to be on the watch for, said officials joining Gov. Brad Henry Wednesday on a walking tour of the damage in Oklahoma City. Oklahomans should inform the authorities on the state and local level if they encounter price gougers, unresponsive insurance carriers, unscrupulous contractors offering to clean up debris, and others trying to make an unjust dollar off of the disaster.

Caution should be taken when cleaning up the mess left by the ice storm. When it comes to downed power lines, Oklahomans should leave that work to the professionals, said Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. President Peter Delaney.
