Legislation to allow pharmacists to reimport American-made pharmaceuticals from Canada passed a House committee on Monday, but not without debate.

Senate Bill 1434, by state Sen. Tom Adelson, D-Tulsa, and state Rep. Kris Steele, R-Shawnee, would require the federal Food and Drug Administration to approve any plan by which licensed pharmacists could work with other licensed, regulated entities in Canada to provide safe, low-cost prescription drugs to Oklahomans.
