Mark Herring was shot in the face while sitting in line in the drive-through at a Tulsa McDonald's restaurant. At the time of the incident, which occurred at 3:15 on a May morning in 2006, Herring was on a break during a special overnight shift for his employer, Kmart.
Herring has six teeth missing and a mountain of medical bills he hasn't been able to pay, said Herring's attorney, Phillip Hawkins, adding that Herring's employer did not offer medical insurance coverage.
