Oklahoma Rig Count Highest in More Than a Decade

The number of drilling rigs actively exploring for oil and natural gas in Oklahoma last week increased for the fourth consecutive week.

The state's active rig count for the week ended Friday totaled 194, the highest level in more than a decade and up from 191 the previous week and from 153 for the same week in 2005, according to a weekly report from Houston-based Baker Hughes.
