Oklahoma Lawmakers Question the 'Super Wild Card' Provision

After several meetings listing the reasons for and against a proposal to expand the abilities of Oklahoma banks, members of a legislative task force identified just one point on which most members agreed: the "super wild card" provision is out.

"The so-called 'super wild card' statute, granting to any one profession all the rights to conduct business such a profession has in any other state, is poor public policy," wrote Sen. Jay Paul Gumm, D-Durant, co-chairman of the State Banking Services Task Force, in a letter to his fellow task force members.
