Each year city officials hope to avoid reaching a $250,000 insurance deductible for weather-related damages to Oklahoma City property, city Finance Director Laura Johnson said.

Breaking that deductible twice in the same fiscal year is almost unheard of, but that's what happened this month with hail and tornadoes, she confirmed Thursday.
