The U.S. Air Force has selected Benham Cos. of Oklahoma City to provide architectural design and engineering services for a new $145 million family housing community at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D.C. Bolling AFB is the headquarters for the Air Force Military District of Washington. The district provides homeland defense operations in the National Capital Region and wartime base- operating and logistical support to 36,000 Air Force personnel.

Benham will develop a 160-acre community that will include 460 new family housing units for enlisted and officer personnel living at Bolling. The firm will also provide engineering services. Several hundred existing outdated housing units will be demolished. Bolling has more than 6,300 joint-service family members living on the base.
