Ok Health Official Advocates Rape Prevention Education for Businesses

Summary


Businesses and colleges could lead the way in the effort to reduce sexual assaults in Oklahoma - and as a bonus, improve their bottom line in the process, a state Health Department representative said Tuesday.

More than a dozen colleges and universities across the state are already participating in a program called Man-to-Man, and a similar program could be expanded to include businesses, said Steve Nedbalek, an education specialist for the Health Department. The program works to help young men "understand the trauma of rape, understand sexual coercion, be less vulnerable to dating misunderstandings, help rape survivors and be role models for change," according to the department's description.
