The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has awarded the city of Norman a $20,000 Industrial Access Road grant to make improvements to the access road at Southwestern Wire. The Norman Economic Development Coalition and the city of Norman obtained the grant after visiting Southwestern Wire during site visitations to Norman's major employers.

One of the things the team discovered at Southwestern Wire was the entry way, which is a city road, had deteriorated into gravel, said Don Wood, executive director of the Norman Economic Development Coalition.
