Mental Health Prescription Bill Advances in Oklahoma House

Summary


Legislation to help alleviate prescription drug costs for individuals suffering from mental illnesses has been approved by the state House.

House Bill 1991, by state Rep. Al McAffrey, D-Oklahoma City, allows the Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy to implement a statewide program distributing unused prescription drugs from residential care homes, nursing homes, assisted-living centers, and public intermediate care facilities to people with mental illnesses at state and private hospitals.
