Legislature to Challenge Casket Laws in Oklahoma

Summary


Though it has been attempted many times before, this may be the year to break Oklahoma's casket cartel, said Rep. Paul Wesselhoft, R- Moore.

Oklahoma is one of four states that requires caskets be purchased from a licensed funeral director, said Wesselhoft, taking up a fight that was also waged by his predecessor, former Rep. Carolyn Coleman, R-Moore. Oklahoma's casket law has repeatedly been challenged, only to be upheld by the courts.
