House Bill 2713 by state Rep. Mike Shelton would amend the Elderly and Incapacitated Victim's Protection Act to increase the penalty for crimes against the elderly from a minimum of 30 days in jail to 90 days.
So often our elderly are targeted by opportunistic criminals because they are so easily taken advantage of, said Shelton, D- Oklahoma City. All crime is reprehensible, but crimes against the most vulnerable in our society are completely despicable and cowardly, and I believe we should be doing everything we can to deter this behavior.See the full content of this document
