Oklahoma Landowners File Lawsuit Over Keystone Xl Pipeline

A group of 12 relatives with ties to a family farm in rural Bryan County is challenging Canadian pipeline builder TransCanada Corp.'s right to condemn land in court over the company's plans to dig up part of their land to make way for the massive Keystone XL pipeline project.

"We just don't think it's fair for a foreign company to come in and condemn our land when it won't benefit any of us or our neighbors," said Sue Kelso, one of the Bryan County landowners who is battling TransCanada in court. "The only people who are going to benefit from this are maybe TransCanada and the refineries."
