A private landowner who made improvements to an intersection of two rural roadways is not responsible for a traffic accident that occurred there, the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals ruled last week.

Carroll M. Shoffner of Shoffner Ranch Inc. hired and paid a contractor for improvements to an uncontrolled intersection of two rural roadways in Okmulgee County. The landowner was sued by plaintiff Matthew Wasson, who had a traffic accident at the intersection.
