Huntington's Disease Society of America to Hold 2007 Convention in Okc

Summary


To commemorate the 40th anniversary of its founding, the Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) will hold its 22nd annual National Convention June 15-17, 2007, in Oklahoma City, less than 30 miles from the birthplace of Woody Guthrie. Guthrie suffered from Huntington's Disease. His wife, Marjorie, founded the organization to raise funds to find a cure and educate the public about this devastating illness.

HDSA has grown to 38 chapters and affiliates among its 12 regions. In 2005, HDSA was able to fund grants of $7.350 million to research and more than $4 million to care.
