Fed Funds Go to Draper Lake Development Efforts

Oklahoma City's efforts to redevelop Lake Stanley Draper into a commercial and recreational area received a boost Wednesday in the form of $300,000 in federal transportation funds that will be used for road improvements surrounding the lake.

The announcement came from Ward 4 Councilman Brent Rinehart and U.S. Rep. Ernest Istook, R-Okla., who included the funds in the transportation portion of the omnibus spending bill that was signed into law earlier this year. Istook chairs the U.S. House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation and Treasury.
