Summary


When the historic Gold Dome building at 1112 NW 23rd St. in Oklahoma City reopened in mid-2005 after a massive renovation project, one of the first two tenants was the Gold Dome Multicultural Society.

The nonprofit agency evolved from the group formed to save the geodesic dome built in 1958 as the home of Classen State Bank. After changing ownership over the years through bank mergers and closings, the building based on R. Buckminster Fuller's geodesic domes was in danger of being demolished for a Walgreens store.
