These Walls: Trinity Episcopal Church
What TripAdvisor.Com has called "the best example of Gothic architecture between St. Louis and California" owes its existence to a dedicated, Depression-stressed fellowship. Downtown Tulsa's Trinity Episcopal Church covers nearly an entire block, its magnificent limestone edifice consistent in look and feel from its 1926 spires and cathedral arches to the 1950s fellowship building addition and the 1970s school construction. That testifies of the steadfast faith of parishioners.

Okla. Homes Built to Better Weather Storms
Mother Nature huffed and puffed, but failed to blow the builder's house down. In March, a small F-1 tornado danced across the Valencia neighborhood at NW 178th Street between May and Pennsylvania avenues, where Ideal Homes has about 400 properties. Steve Shoemaker, marketing director for Ideal, lives on the west side of that neighborhood with his wife and two young sons.
Christian Tv Station in Tulsa Strives to Branch Out
During a local high school football game, cheerleaders gab about who they are dating to a sideline reporter. That common scene might not be what most would expect on a Christian channel, but it's the sort of thing one Tulsa broadcaster is using to boost business.
Hotel Industry Execs to Gather for Okc Summit
More than 150 top executives representing the nation's hotel industry will gather Sunday in Oklahoma City for the third annual summer summit of the American Hotel and Lodging Association. Turnout for the event is expected to be strong, even though association members are facing the same rising fuel costs experienced by their customer base, association President Joe McInerney said. The industry is weathering the current economy well, he said.
Tulsa's Brookside Grows Modern Furniture Niche
Apparently not even street construction can slow the emerging home furnishings corridor in Tulsa's Brookside District. Since Urban Furnishings opened 16 years ago in its first Brookside location, several furniture and fixture operations have sprouted throughout the prominent South Peoria Avenue restaurant and club district. With the addition of SR Hughes and Richard Neel Home over the last four years, all within three blocks of each other, Brookside has developed a strong niche in middle- and...
Gas Closes in On $4 Level As Crude Rises Again
A significant two-day drop in the price of crude oil was all but erased Thursday, and gasoline responded by coming ever so close to the $4-per-gallon plateau. Officially, AAA puts the national average at $3.988.

Gov. Henry Advances Tulsa River Development Funding
Smiles abounded as state and Tulsa County leaders gathered at the wind-swept Arkansas River Thursday to watch Gov. Brad Henry jump- start a new river development package. "I think it's kind of cool that these conditions are kind of challenging," the governor said, speaking before a table propped up with sand bags to keep it from blowing over. "Development of the Arkansas River in Tulsa County has always been challenging."
Texas Judge Uses Football Rivalry in Compromise
You might say that a Texas federal judge "split the difference" this week in an Arkansas-Texas legal dispute over where to take a deposition. His order in a personal injury case has to do with rivalry of another kind, including what U.S. District Judge James Nowlin refers to at the "Game of the Century."
The wording on the invitation to A Night in Casablanca is so enticing that it sounds like a night not to be ignored. All that seems to be missing are Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. Easter Seals Oklahoma and KOMA have joined to host "an enchanted evening, transporting you to the sounds of Rick's Cafe Americain. A bill of fare second to none, from the dusty plains of Oklahoma to the sand dunes of Morocco will be served."
Tulsa-Based Arena Resources Completes Purchase

Oklahoma will receive almost $247,000 of a $35 million agreement among 42 states, the federal government and Walgreens. The deal settled allegations that company drugstores switched dosages on certain drugs and improperly billed state Medicaid programs.
