Oklahoma's Deadcenter Film Festival Begins Wednesday
What started seven years ago as an effort to spark some local interest in the film industry has turned into a popular addition to the downtown setting. The deadCENTER Film Festival began in 2001 and will begin another run today at various venues in the downtown area. It began as a one- day event and has turned into a five-day festival and will run through Sunday.
Tulsa Children's Museum: A Museum Without Walls
All the Tulsa Children's Museum needs is a building. Allyson Jannotta, public relations chairwoman, said a children's museum features interactive exhibits designed to teach subjects such as science, health and art among other disciplines in a fun but educational way.
National Association of Development Companies for Region 6 Adds Board
Debbie Partin, financial services director with Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma Inc., was elected to serve on the board of directors of the National Association of Development Companies for Region 6, which includes Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana and Arkansas. Partin is executive vice president of REI New Markets Investments LLC and is a certified economic development finance professional.
St. Anthony Hospital Physician Granted Re-Accreditation
Dr. Kaji Karam, a physician with St. Anthony Hospital, has been granted re-accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL). Echocardiography is a complex imaging technique that relies on the experience and training of both the physician and sonographer.
Tamara S. Berg of Yukon Elected Vice President of Oklahoma Dental Association
Tamara S. Berg of Yukon has been elected vice president of the Oklahoma Dental Association. Berg graduated from Southern Nazarene University in 1991. She received her doctor of dental surgery degree in 1995 from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. Berg was president of the Oklahoma County Dental Society during 2003-2004. She was named ODA Young Dentist of the Year in 2000 and was awarded the Thomas Jefferson Citizenship Award in 2003 from the ODA.

Oklahoma's May Revenue Collections Exceed Estimate, Prior Year
Oklahoma's revenue collections got a boost from higher energy prices in May. General revenue fund collections for the month totaled $493.6 million, up 13.4 percent from $435.2 million from May 2007 and 19.9 percent more than the estimate of $412.9 million, according to a monthly report released Tuesday of the Office of the State Treasurer.
Oklahoma-Based Chesapeake Energy to Open Regional Office
Chesapeake Energy Corp. plans to open a regional office in northwest Louisiana. Chesapeake is in the process of leasing office space in the Shreveport-Bossier City area. The Oklahoma City-based company has operated in Louisiana since the mid-1990s and maintains a field office in Sligo.
Okc Wages Average $16.56 Per Hour
Workers in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area earned an average of $16.56 per hour in February, according to a report released Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Labor. The data available for the Oklahoma City area include earnings for 20 occupational groups with additional detail for selected occupations within those groups.
