Tulsa-Based Matrix Service's Revenues Increase 7.4 Percent

An increase in contracts for the downstream petroleum industry boosted Matrix Service's revenues for the third fiscal quarter ended Feb. 28. The Tulsa-based industrial services company reported revenues for the quarter of $119.6 million, up 7.4 percent from $111.4 million for the third quarter of the previous fiscal year.

New Lease Keeps Txok Energy Resources' Headquarters in Downtown Tulsa

TXOK Energy Resources Co. will keep its headquarters in Tulsa under a new lease for 22,655 square feet in the Bank of Oklahoma Tower. TXOK formed in September after EXCO Resources Inc. in Dallas acquired Oneok Energy Resources Co. from Oneok Inc. for about $642.9 million.

Graduation-Test Measure Approved by Oklahoma House

A measure requiring students to pass end-of-instruction tests as a requirement for high school graduation can be renamed the Leave a Child Behind Act, state Rep. Jerry McPeak said Thursday. Senate Bill 1792, part of Gov. Brad Henry's Achieving Classroom Excellence initiative, was approved by the House of Representatives on Wednesday on a 54-42 vote divided mainly along party lines, rejected by Henry's fellow Democrats.

Independent Yellow Page Directory to Publish Oklahoma City Edition

The User-Friendly Phone Book, an independent yellow page directory publisher based in The Woodlands, Texas, is launching a new directory in Oklahoma City. The directory will publish in the first quarter of 2007 with an expected circulation of 550,000. User-Friendly already publishes directories in Tulsa and Bartlesville.

Sonic Corp.'s board of directors has approved a three-for-two stock split. Sonic's stockholders of record on April 17 will receive one additional share for every two shares of common stock. The new shares will be distributed on April 28.

James Johnson, president of the Douglass High School Alumni Association, said Thursday that he's so inspired by the newly built Douglass High School that he almost wishes he were a student again. It's a wonderful modern facility that has amenities that will look good to any student who attends there, Johnson said, a 1971 Douglass High graduate. Tulsa's Greenwood Cultural Center (GCC) will present its 2006 Legacy Award to former University of Tulsa basketball coach Orlando Tubby Smith. The award will be presented at the GCC at 6 p.m. on April 20 at the Second Annual Legacy Dinner. The Cultural Center inaugurated the award program last year, recognizing Tulsa native and television and film star Alfre Woodward, currently in the cast of Desperate Housewives. Dwain Midget is president of the board of the Greenwood Cultural Center.

Tulsa-Based Oneok Completes Transactions

Oneok on Thursday completed a series of transactions that resulted in the Tulsa-based company owning 100 percent of the general partner interest and 45.7 percent of Northern Border Partners of Omaha, Neb. With the completion of these transactions, Oneok and the partnership are well positioned to grow, said David Kyle, Oneok chairman, president and CEO. Oneok will benefit from the expected growth of the partnership, both by acquisition and from internally generated projects.

Companies Qualify for Oklahoma Quality Jobs Program

Two companies have qualified for the Oklahoma Quality Jobs Program. Cooler Service Co. of Tulsa qualified for 210 new jobs. Cooler Service manufactures air-cooled heat exchangers for the oil and natural gas industry.
