J. Mark Osborn of Miami Receives Champions of Health Awards

J. Mark Osborn of Miami has been chosen as the Champion of Oklahoma Health, the highest recognition in the 2005 Champions Health Awards. Osborn was chosen for his assistance to families affected by the Tar Creek Superfund site near Picher. Osborn worked with Gov. Brad Henry to enact legislation creating the Lead Impact Trust Authority, resulting in $3 million in appropriations to relocate Picher-area families with young children.

Spanish Language Education Offered to Legal Profession in Okc

The Training Center at Oklahoma City Community College and the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce have developed a non-credit course designed to teach attorneys and legal assistants Spanish. The four-week course, Spanish for the Legal Community, begins Oct. 3.

Zenex International's common stock increased sharply for the second consecutive day Wednesday as another hurricane approached the Gulf Coast. School Land Auctions Scheduled in 32 Oklahoma Counties

The 23rd annual school land trust lease auctions will include 471 leases in 32 counties. The auctions begin Oct. 10 in Beaver County and end Oct. 20 in Payne County. Over 165,000 acres are being offered in these auctions, said Keith Kuhlman, director of real estate for the Commissioners of the Land Office. Some leases are suitable for grazing or farming operations and others are ideal for recreational hunting, fishing or other personal enjoyment uses.
