Okc-Based Kerr-Mcgee to Drill Offshore Angola
Kerr-McGee Angola Ltd., a wholly owned affiliate of Kerr-McGee Oil & Gas Corp., today announced it has signed an agreement with Angola's national petroleum company, Sonangol, to explore for hydrocarbons on block 10 offshore Angola. The agreement gives Kerr-McGee a 25 percent contract interest in block 10, which is operated by Devon Energy Corp. with a 35 percent contract interest. Sonangol and affiliates retain a 40 percent contract interest.

Ok State House Passes College Savings Accounts
The state House unanimously passed a bill to increase the amount of money Oklahomans can place tax free in college savings accounts. Senate Bill 448, by state Rep. Susan Winchester, would raise the maximum deduction granted to Oklahomans who invest their money in a college savings plan from $2,500 per account per year to as much as $20,000 per account. Thousands of small businesses in Oklahoma could be spared the hassle of dealing with the franchise tax under a bill approved by lawmakers on Monday. House Bill 1738, by state Rep.
