Magellan Midstream Partners Posts Improved Earnings
Magellan Midstream Partners on Tuesday announced a slight increase in net income for the second quarter. Net income for the quarter totaled $18.9 million, or 75 cents per unit, up from $18.5 million, or 63 cents per unit, for the second quarter of 2003.
Syntroleum Corp. on Tuesday reported a net loss for the second quarter of $11.8 million, or 28 cents per share. The Tulsa-based developer of a process to convert natural gas into synthetic liquid hydrocarbons reported net income of $23,000 for the second quarter of 2003. Revenues for the second quarter totaled $145,000. Revenues for the second quarter of 2003 totaled $12.6 million, including $12 million previously included as deferred revenue.

Sonic Joins All-College Basketball Classic Sponsors
Sonic, the operator of about 2,800 drive-ins, has agreed to be the presenting sponsor for the 2004 Touchstone Energy All-College Basketball Classic. The Oklahoma City All Sports Association and Sonic have a one- year agreement. This year's event will be called the Touchstone Energy All-College Basketball Classic Presented by Sonic, said Tim Brassfield, executive director of the All Sports Association, which presents the tournament.
Gci to Market Wireless Services in Alaska for Okc-Based Company
GCI has agreed to market wireless services in Alaska for Oklahoma City-based Dobson Communications. The 10-year agreement will allow GCI to market wireless services to its current telephone, Internet and cable television customer base in Alaska by selling wireless as part of a bundled telecommunications package. The agreement also allows GCI to sell to standalone wireless customers. GCI will market wireless services under its own brand name.
Quad/Graphics to Print New Version of Life Magazine
Quad/Graphics will print a new version of LIFE magazine in Oklahoma City, Lomira, Wis., and Martinsburg, Va. The nation's largest printer of weekly magazines agreed to print the majority of LIFE, which is being reintroduced by Time Inc. in October as a weekend magazine. Quad/Graphics, based in Sussex, Wis., will print 6.6 million of the 12 million copies per week.
$1m in Training Funds Available to Ok Businesses
The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission has announced that $1 million in training funds is available to Oklahoma businesses through the state's Incumbent Worker Training program. The Oklahoma Society of Association Executives has given its top award, the George Nigh Association Executive of the Year Award, to Daryl Hill. A past president of the OSAE, he has served as executive director of the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants for 16 years. He is also a past president of OSAE. BOK Financial Corp. on Tuesday reported a 12 percent increase in net income for the second quarter. Net income for the quarter totaled $45.5 million, or 68 cents per diluted share, up from $40.8 million, or 61 cents per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2003.
Midfirst Bank Quarterly Profits Up 5% to $94.2 Million
MidFirst Bank on Tuesday reported a 5 percent increase in net income for the second quarter. Net income for the quarter totaled $94.2 million, up from $89.7 million for the second quarter of 2003.
