Oklahoma Historical Society Opens E-Research, Gift Shop
The Oklahoma Historical Society has opened a new online store and research request service at www.ok.gov. The e-service allows customers from all over the nation and the world to purchase current and historical Oklahoma items, or request genealogy and other research records from the OHS research collections. The new store has been a longtime goal for the Historical Society, said Bob Blackburn, OHS executive director.

Ok Aeronautics Commission Approves Grant for City of Wagoner
The Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission has approved a $58,148 grant to the City of Wagoner, provided it matches 10 percent of the funds. The total of $65,149 will be used to bury overhead power lines at the Hefner-Easley Airport in Wagoner. Larry Morgan, superintendent for the City of Wagoner, said aviation enthusiasts have complained about the power lines for a while. Wagoner has about 43 based aircraft at the Hefner-Easley Airport averaging 18,000 operations (flights in and out of the airport)...
Ok Bar Assn. Reimburses $86,000 in Client Losses
The Oklahoma Bar Association is reimbursing more than $86,000 to 26 people for losses sustained as a result of the acts, illness or death of their attorneys. Eight former attorneys were involved in the claims filed. Payments totaling $86,512 were authorized by the Board of Governors upon the recommendation of the Clients' Security Fund Committee.
Unit Corp. Expenditures Budget Increases 30% for 2005
Unit Corp. Wednesday revealed a 30 percent increase in its consolidated capital expenditure budget to $205 million for 2005, allocated between its three primary subsidiaries: Unit Drilling, Unit Petroleum and Superior Pipeline. This compared to the Tulsa energy company's estimated 2004 capital expenditures, excluding acquisitions.
The Beard Co. Commences $1.5 Million Offering
The Beard Co. has arranged for an investment banking firm to sell $1.5 million of its 12 percent five-year subordinated notes to accredited investors in a private placement. The notes are convertible into shares of the company's common stock at a conversion price of $1 per share, officials said Wednesday. Some of the notes also will be sold by the company.
Superior Oil and Gas of Yukon Buys Steel Building Firm
Superior Oil and Gas of Yukon will acquire all of the outstanding capital stock of EagleSpan Steel Structures of Loveland, Colo., in a $6 million deal. The agreement calls for $3 million in cash and stock within 45 days of closing, expected in the first week of February. Area new car and truck sales rose 2.5 percent for the first 11 months of the year over the same period in 2003, the Metropolitan Auto Dealers Association reported Wednesday. New units sold up to December totaled 48,237, the association reported, up from 47,078 a year earlier.
Finance Office Lays Out Ok's Fiscal Forecast
The state Legislature will have $370 million more to spend than it did last year, according to the Office of State Finance's Fiscal Year 2006 revenue forecast. Funds available for 2006 total $5.8 billion, or 6.9 percent more than expended for FY 2005. The Board of Equalization will be asked to certify the estimate on Monday.
