City Council Votes for Billboard-Free Downtown Freeway

No billboards will clutter the four-mile stretch of freeway that will run through downtown. After months of contentious debate, council members voted 8-1 on Tuesday to pass a total ban on billboards along the planned downtown segment of Interstate 40. Councilman Brent Rinehart, Ward 4, opposed the ordinance that will go into effect Nov. 10.

Federal Officials to Speak at 'Bridging the Gap' Summit

Scott Denniston of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Neal McCaleb, former Interior Department Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, will be the speakers for the Bridging the Gap summit on Oct. 12 at the Reed Center in Midwest City. Alcoholic Beverage Commission Issues Liquor Licenses

The ABLE Commission Licensing Division has issued one beer and wine license, four caterer/mixed-beverage combination licenses, six mixed-beverage licenses and two retail package store licenses.
